Terms and Conditions

  • When a registered customer ceases to be the owner or occupier of the premises, he/she should inform the Company of his/her intention to close the electricity account and apply for refund of the deposit. Only the registered customer can apply for closing of electricity account. Customer should inform the Company at least 2 working days in advance of the date he/she wishes his/her account to be closed.
  • Upon receipt of the application for closing electricity account, the Company may require the taking of final reading. The Company accepts no responsibility for any loss, injury or damage whatsoever by reading of the meter by yourself or your agent. The Company reserves the right to ignore the meter reading reported by the customer and may take an actual final reading for the purpose of account closing.
  • The Company will close an electricity account and issue the final bill after the final reading is obtained. Any outstanding charges will be deducted from the electricity deposit. The balance of deposit, if any, will be refunded to the registered customer by means of a crossed cheque or electronic fund transfer or other refund method selected by customer.
  • I understand that my/our deposit will be utilised to offset the final account as indicated in the final bill. The refund of electricity deposit will be processed if there is a credit balance after such offsetting. If the deposit is insufficient to cover the total outstanding electricity balances, a final bill for the balance outstanding will be sent to me for settlement. When the deposit has been fully utilised to offset the electricity balances, my deposit receipt may become void and null.
  • The Company shall have the right to cancel this application and restore the present registered customer to this account.
  • The Company reserves the right to reject the application if insufficient or inaccurate information is provided.
  • I confirm that I am the applicant and that details given in this Online Application Form are true and accurate and I shall not hold CLP Power responsible for any fraudulent acts on my part. I shall compensate CLP Power for all damage, injury or losses of whatever nature suffered by CLP Power as a result of any fraudulent acts on my part or on the part of the applicant and I shall indemnify and keep indemnified CLP Power against all actions, claims, costs and demands of whatsoever nature brought or made against CLP Power directly or indirectly out of or in connection with such fraudulent acts.
  • I fully understand the purpose and agree to CLP Power using data collected from me for the purpose of or directly related to applying for closing of electricity account and refund of electricity deposit. If I do not provide sufficient data, CLP Power may not be able to process my/our application.
  • I understand that the provision of the data is voluntary. Personal data collected will be used in matters relating to the operations of CLP Power and may be disclosed to third party organisations which assist in the Company's operation. Such data may also, unless the customer in writing requests otherwise, be used for the purpose of direct marketing by CLP Power itself. Terms and Conditions

I agree to choose 'Green Bill' as my preferred form of bill presentment, and that upon receipt of the 'Green Bill' from CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd ('the Company'), I am liable to all charges (including back charges), fees, or costs payable to the Company in respect of my account, and will observe and comply with the Supply Rules of the Company as revised from time to time.

By choosing 'Green Bill' which allows me to view and print my electricity bill on-line, I confirm and accept that bills will not be presented to me by any other means.

I accept that it is my obligation to settle bills on or before the due date.

I accept that it is my obligation to update my account information whenever there are changes to such information. I also agree that I am liable to change my password periodically for security reason. I accept that use of public / shared computers may leave my personal information unprotected and I shall remain liable for all charges, damages, or loss or expenses incurred as a result of such use or any authorized or unauthorized use.

I agree that I am responsible for any undelivered Bill Summary which results from incorrect information input by me or changes to such information not being updated by me in a timely fashion. I am fully aware of the fact that if I fail to settle a bill on its due date, I shall be liable to pay additional charges as required by the Company. I am also aware of the fact that in the event of non-receipt by the Company of payment of any outstanding amounts due from me, the Company may disconnect the supply.

I am aware that the 'Green Bill' received may be treated as a spam mail. I am responsible for any undelivered 'Green Bill' which results from anti-spam filter set in the email client or server. In the event of my non-receipt of 'Green Bill' due to the operation of anti-spam filter set in my email client or server or any other reason, I undertake to pay all charges billed by CLP Power on or before their due dates. I agree and accept that if I fail to settle a bill on its due date, I shall be liable to pay additional charges as required by the Company. I also agree and accept that in the event of non-receipt by the Company of payment of any outstanding amounts due from me, the Company may disconnect the supply.
